Hey so I know it's not much but I for one would be personally happy to see 2 new hotkeys added. These 2 hotkeys would be for a preferred in-scroll depth setting and a preferred out-scroll depth setting. You could set this by holding the key for 5 seconds and it would remember your scroll depth. I know scrolling is easy but I would much rather hit a button and it be at my favorite in-scroll size view and also hit a button to get a view of the grid so I can easily click on what I want. Just a thought

+1 Especially when teleporting to people, being super zoomed out after looking at map can sometimes lead to necessary nexusing. Goto command solves this but also takes time to type.

Yes. I hate having to reconfigure my screen to the size I want (and I'm really picky about that) every time I zoom out to see the map. It would be great to have a button that I could press to get into my optimal battle screen, or something like that.

Little things:
Yes, I'd love to have two zoom level keys! Zooming is really annoying on my laptop.
I'd love to have a key to interact with the ground — picking up prisms, or dropping off shards — instead of waiting in a location.
I'd love towns to have just a few sockets instead of lots and lots, and I'd like the choice of socket to matter more.
I'd love towns to look alive, instead of just a collection of identical buildings. Enemy buildings/fortresses look alive (animation) but our towns don't.
I'd love mouseover tooltips to be elsewhere on the screen, not in the middle where it blocks my view of the battle.
I'd love the mouse position to stay where it is when I switch focus to my IRC window, instead of moving to the top left or whatever random thing it does.

amitp, you're forgetting one thing: To have a healing mechanism at the center of a town past level 3. I mean, once it is at this level, nothing is going to hit you at the center of this town anyway, and if you use the escape key to get there in a sticky situation, it can be kinda boring to wait for everything to regen.

To go along with Amitp's idea, it would be cool for the animation to be useful for towns. If the tower that made it so there was 5% less minion generation sent out mini-machines to sabotage all the enemy towers in the area for 1 minute. This would also make it useful for smaller groups if the town machines pulled some fire from the players for the 1 minute.

I would love to be able to set default go-to zoom levels. +1 for that tay! My dream would be playing this with both hands on the keyboard, with the right hand using the num-pad to steer the tank and control the zoom levels and the left hand always ready on the trigger and shard quick buttons. As it is, the game is only a few button bindings away from this dream (e.g. have the 7 and 9 keys on the keypad for default zoomed-in and zoomed-out keys and keys 1 and 3 for the continuous zoom. The 0/del key could then be the nexus key, for easy/natural access. I know, this would limit players on smaller laptops, but, oh, would it be sweet. I love the feel of driving the tank with arrow keys! I say screw the mouse, who has a mouse in a tank anyway?
