Hey all,
I have another idea which is potentially stupid or completely ingenious. Knowing me, it is stupid.
I have the idea of a scrap metal shop where your unneeded modules could be melted down into scrap metal. I know what you're thinking, scrap metal? What, why? Well my fine friend this scrap metal could be used as material to make other modules with pros or cons depending on your luck.
Think of it like Terraria where a crafted pickaxe can have a modifier of 'superior' where the damage is increased or 'inferior' where damage is decreased.
Of course each module melted down could yield x amount of scrap metal depending on factors like rarity or tier (if there are tiers). Using more scrap metal to create a new module increases your chances of better modifiers and decreases your chance of a bad modifier.
In order to make this more easier to try and get a module you want you could have a menu where you pick a specific tank or a specific module type you want. (e.g. if you want a spectre specific module you select the spectre tank option. If you want a module specific to shield strength you select the 'shield module' option. Or an 'I'm feeling lucky' option for the people who like to live dangerously.)
You could also have a minimum amount of scrap metal required to make a specific module. (e.g. a spectre module may require you to give up at least 15 scrap metal where as a corsair module may only need a minimum of 10.)
What does everyone think? If you can improve on the idea then please do so.

Low level items are your scrap metal.

I'd be game for this. Either this, or simply partial modification (you can put lower level mods into higher level mods to make them partially modified, giving you a use for those things), though I think this could be more interesting. I collect loads of tank unlocks and augments that I really have no use for, and it would be great to have a point from them instead of just feeding them to unaugmented tanks, or just throwing them away.
