Hey all,
As you can see my idea is about having Smart Minions. Now, i'm not saying the current minions are dumb. I'm saying that we could make minions more strategic and challenging but not too challenging to make it impossible. I think it would be a good addition. Here are some ideas:
- When the minion spawner is attacked the minions can surround and protect it. Or they could surround the player and attack.
- A minion that can heal others.
- A special minion that explodes when a player is within a certain radius (we could have an animation to show when it is about to explode).
These minions could have a X% chance of being spawned rather than a normal minion, to make them obvious they would be a colour that isn't already used and stands out.
Anyone else got some ideas for smart minions?

I'd be up for this, but I don't like the idea of having them randomized. I'd rather have certain smart minions drop from certain fortresses that have certain behaviours specific to said fortress. Simply because that's how all the minions in this game work, and it would give every fortress unique strategies on how to beat it. I would also want 'smart minions' to spawn a lot slower than normal minions, as these would be inevitably harder to deal with and more problematic. Though on that note, I wouldn't mind several 'sets' of smart minion layouts for a single fortress.
As for my ideas:
A fast, flying enemy that will initially run away if chased, but when its attention is diverted, it will turn around and commence a significally powerful strafe/bombing run on its chosen target.
An enemy with a large amount of life that sticks closely to enemies of its kind. Together, they form a 'wall' of sorts that is used to protect the fortress and block off players.
A high-health, fast moving enemy with no weapons that charges players, and upon contact pushes players back, a bit like a bulldozer. (This one might not work, but it's an option ^^)
A sniper minion that tries to keep a reasonable distance from its target and strike from afar, but moves slowly and will never stray too far from the original fortress.

I don't think there going to care about ideas for its not even out of closed alpha yet meaning MANY bugs. I think you're missing the point of alpha testing. Alpha testers are supposed to report bugs and suggest ideas.

Yes but my point is i don't see anything wrong with the minions as much as other things.
