From an in-game chat with Rob yesterday it turned out that one of the biggest hindrances of implementing some of the waited features is the burden of having to create an appropriate UI. My proposal is temporarily ditching the UI, make the features accessible through typing console commands into the chat. The game is still in alpha phase, which means functionality is a bit more important than design, so I think no one would complain if we don't get shiny buttons and panels for everything. (Also, having to use console commands in a sci-fi game has a certain charm... ) Features I'd like to have (no need for shiny interface): - Ability to sort Short and Long Term inventory by Type and Level
- Ability to sort my buy offers (I see only Sell offers will be sorted next build)
- Customize keyboard layout
- See my tanks augments without having to switch to them, for example when someone asks whether I'd buy a lvl X augment. (Example command: "/tankaug corsair" , example reply: "Server: corsair: 15hp 13da 13ra 15sh 15cd 13sp"
- Know the exact amount of my coins
- Get a notification if I enter a new sector, only important if it is of the same type
If anyone has anything that they wish to see and that does NOT require too much UI redesign, feel free to add it here!
p.s.: If we get the functionality via chat commands, it is easy to write autohotkey macros for fast typing, so as long as there is no in-game UI there will be still third-party UI (ahk can create panels/buttons too) or at least hotkey bindings for the lazy.

With the coin tooltip showing exact balance removed from the roadmap, I'm really hoping for a /balance command (or equivalent) like you described.

It should have a Matrix-style background. Hehe. EDIT: Still 1-star user on the forums EDIT2: Still -1 karma

I'm in favor of this idea. After all, back in the old days we didn't even have the tank menu and /drive (and remembering tank names!) was all we had.
@duco I dunno who's smiting you, but I'd say it's undeserved. Here, have an exaltation.
(For the record, I think that both karma and ranks other than the standard admin/mod/normal should be removed from the forums - they're a pointless distraction from the post itself, which should be what's being judged rather than the user.)

I'd love to see those features mentioned in the OP, but I don't think we should get rid of the UI. After all, this would be temporary (the removal of the UI), so how would removing the UI only to bring it back again shortly after help with anything? A compromise could be to leave the current UI but not expand on it until the UI would be brought back according OP's suggestion.

Thanks! Here's a +1 karma for you too! And I think MPGH's ''thanks'' system would work best.
