That would be the 'ghost tank' bug. It's been a problem for a while, and several failed bug fixes have been put forward against it. In my experience, it's usually either a phantom or a hercules, which is either spinning or has its turret spinning. If you hover your mouse over it, it will say 'Player' along with all stats and whatnot, but it is not recognized as a 'player', and will not show up when you type in /who. It will sometimes show up as an un-named tank when you zoom out, though.

Well...that is 2nd weirdest screenie of grid that I've ever seen....dear God, they multiply ._.
But in all seriousness, the bug looks like it is getting worse. Wonder what's going on here?
