Hello Brave Testers!
Tim and I got back from GDC a couple of days ago. We had a great time there and came back with lots of ideas for Grid12. But even though we didn't work on the game last week, we've still got a few changes to show you in build 91:
* Add unmeld * Make Juggernaut shoot missiles in 4-shot salvos * Add flares in towns * Add rudimentary support for window resizing * Add unlock level to tank menu tooltips * Recolor Kraken's aux laser * Show chat menu on pagedown even if already at bottom
Unmeld has no cost and just requires that you have enough long-term space to hold the results. We decided to disallow it for modules, so that players wouldn't feel obligated to unmeld and remeld endlessly until the right stats came up. We've decided to (someday) implement module stat choosing at install time, and when we do that, we'll turn on unmeld for modules.
We can now resize the game in Flash Player and it works pretty well. One thing that doesn't work is enemy tooltips. This is still experimental so we don't expect it to work in all cases and we definitely expect there to be weird bugs. Also we didn't enable resizing on the grid12.com website, so you'll need to use your own projector or whatever to make resizing happen for now. We'd appreciate feedback on this.
[Using Chrome, you can zoom with Ctrl-mousewheel before clicking "Play" and hopefully get decent zooming.]
"Flares" are little lifeforms that show up in towns. They have no game consequence and are just meant to be decorations.

Excellent update.
Unmelding is... Interesting. I feel like it's going to be good for trading, because now if I have a 18 tank and someone wants a 17, I can sell them one. It's a very nice complimentary feature that isn't necessary but is cool. Same with the flares, unlock levels, and Kraken's weapon color change.

Ehh... there's this issue when I re-size the screen. The tiles don't appear under enemies

Resizing works amazing, I am glad to finally see this feature implemented, as I felt it really should have been there from the start. The only bugs that exist with it were the ones that were there before, enemy HP and all of that DO pop up, just offcenter, in this example my mouse was where the pink is, and that is where you would have to put your cursor (at my zoom level, every further zoom level offcenters it more) to get the Origin pop-up Note that at this doesn't prevent you from click tp'ing like it used to. Just a bug that is inconvenient at most

I should add, with all these new builds it seems you are sneaking in some tiny decorations and aesthetic differences to your game world. Whether or not its just adding essential "pretty" factors to your game world, these additions are really very pretty, and make the world feel so much more vibrant than ever before, especially in the contrast of what the game used to look like. I don't know how much of an artist you consider yourself, but I am enjoying all the little details that are being added, and appreciate any addition to the backround.
I hope I got to mention how much I enjoy the smoke effects as well, I would be all in for something that let's players change them to skulls or whatever.

Great build!
I love the flares, they make it feel like I'm actually in a town, rather than just teleporting to some kind of Pentagon- thing.
I have no use for unmeld as of yet, but I can see it being useful in the near future.
Also, I should ad, whenever I go on the forums it gives me the Christian mingle add and the continuous stare of those two girls is starting to creep me out

Was finally able to use unmeld to my advantage exactly how I anticipated.
17 damage dropped as loot from a convoy. Of course i missed it because I went to origin right before the ship died.
Two others got 17s as loot. My Viking was only at 13.
One person sold me a 17, the other sold me a 14, 15, and 16.
I love this.

I've noticed a bug repeatedly occurring to me lately.
I'm not really sure what's causing it, but at one point when I'm playing, my game freezes. Everything except for my shields, which rotate but don't move.I can also hear sound and see my tank taking damage. After a while it wears off, but happens frequently from that point on until I refresh...it's kinda harder to explain, and I'm not a tech wiz with YouTube and stuff...
The only cause I can think of is continuous play for around half an hour, but it seems fairly random.

Tim, So far I have not been able to note the numbers without getting obliterated. However,I noted that David, on his channel, has a vid of the same glitch.( immobile tank)The numbers may be hard to read soI will try reproduce it more.
