Hey folks,
Now that that game is looking more like I want it to, I was thinking it would be nice to have a few good-looking up-to-date screenshots of the game. I'm pretty bad at taking them. If any of you are better at it, post a few here! I might use them to illustrate some blog posts.

Nice shots, except for those health bars. How should they look? Smaller and out of the way to be most pleasing probably. Or the bars themselves could only be activated when the enemy is hovered over, there are also many unique and different ways to show an enemies health besides standard bars as well. Health circles health x and y. Main fortress health could even be dictated by how much and the color of smoke they emit as well. No doubt many options to make the game look even better. I think minion health can all but be removed though.

I don't mind the health bars so long as the minion bars no longer match your teammates' health. Wasting a heal, because the minion sitting on David is about to die, can be somewhat maddening. I suppose that I could bring this up again too: If smoke were a function of the percentage of remaining HP (Rob, you told me it's currently total damage done with a cap), it then could be an elegant clue to the health of all combatants without health bars. Although, I expect some players to not use smoke while they play. Kelsoo has some good ideas in his post. I would be apposed to completely removing minion health, but I'm sure there are other ways to display which ones are close to dying so players can prioritize in a jam.

As Kelsoo said, a health 'circle' similar to shield ring but for HP would be cool Or instead of or in addition to smoke effects, have the entire enemy desaturate with lower hp, until at 0 (or practically 0) it is basically black (or very dark).

I don't know if I'd like HP circle. The health bars should be a little smaller, and preferably orange when almost at full health (100% full shouldn't show the bar at all as it is now), reddening while the HP goes down. Also, transparency (maybe 60 - 70 % opacity) would be great for the HP bars.

I honestly like the enemy health bars. The player health bars, instead, look "wrong" to me, no idea why. Maybe because they're not centered.
