[deadhorsebeating] The game is boring. [/deadhorsebeating] Yes, here's some more salt. Idea 2 for removing boring: Let Nova Power Units boost the power of: - The 4 (or 8) adjacent structures (those directly north, south, east, and west).
- Have the 'power' boost be a slight increase in damage (~5%)
- Only structures are affected
If you want a 'why', continue reading. Think of power units as... well power plants. Only structures are affected because only static objects can be hardwired into a power plant. This would reprioritize Novas as a 'kill first' structure, instead of something to be avoided because of the longer time to kill. Yes, this is only a slight change, but more thoughts are coming.

The Butcher missile stations affect a large area around them, drastically changing your tactics when one is nearby. This Nova Power Unit idea is kind of similar.

But see, the Butcher stations just kinda make you kite countless rockets, which is anything but fun or worthwhile. The concept of towers intermingling is good, but the Butcher stations (although i like them) are not the end-all be-all of tactical enemy buffs.

Rob, Yes, Butcher stations do currently affect the way that one plays nearby towers, which I agree is good. In general however, they can be overly powerful, a handful of rockets is enough to kill someone distracted by their inventory or something else. The missiles are hard to see, whereas this could hopefully also include some sort of big visual indicator (red/purple glow?) on affected structures.
Butchers are okay right now, but that doesn't mean we can't add more, does it?
