Hello, Brave Testers! It's time for build 128! Changes include:
* Redo the way augments work * Fix shield damage timer reset bug * Add Necrosis-class Terrorbase * Add range buff to Hurricane's first trigger * Show compass pointers to nearby convoys and patrols only
The biggest change this week is the revamp of augments. They are no longer items, but will instead auto-equip to whatever tank you are driving. You can have up to 15 augments of each type on each tank, and you lose level / 2 + 1 augments when you die. At 1 augment, you get a 4% bonus. At 3 augs you get 8%; 7 give 12% and 15 give 16%. This formula requires exactly the same number of augment drops as the previous item-based system. The downside is that you can't farm augs for one tank while using another, while the upside is that you don't have to manually fiddle with a bunch of inventory-hogging augment items.
We fixed a serious bug with shields, where a hit to one counted as a hit to all for purposes of regen timers. Thanks to those who pointed it out.
The Necrosis is a difficulty 3 triangular fort which you should only see in red regions. Hurricane's target limit trigger now also buffs the range of the gun. Compass pointers to big enemies now only show up when the enemy in question is less than a region's width away.

When I was on earlier, our group successfully defeated a Crippler. It was an interesting fight, honestly. However, the drop from the core did not seem to adequately reflect the relative difficulty of the enemy. It appears that the loot table for the new towers is on par with the Drill Station, which is a very easy tower, by comparison.
So, could we get a buff for the uber-tower loot? Once the newness and challenge of destroying them wears off, I don't think that I'll be risking my tanks for rewards I can safely get elsewhere.

Crunch, we plan to address the Crippler loot issue by rewarding quest objectives more than random forts. It's our plan to make it "not worth it" to fight a Crippler (or anything, really) without a good reason based on map objectives. For example, I want to make a subcommander appear and this Crippler is in my way, so I'll fight it -- not for its loot, but for what it allows me to accomplish. We plan to get started on this in the next build.
