Minotaur is the best for square structures and yellow regions. It has great dps, survivability, and cc against ground minions, but lacks any ability of killing aerial minions, and is shut down by any sort of plane fort. Thunderbolt pretty much dominates green regions, which is fun. Valkyrie and predator are good for circle regions, as they both have good cc since these regions are usually minion heavy while at the same time have respectable structure dps. For team clearing, hurricane is nice since it shuts down all minions, and hornet is fun for straight dps (though dies without support, not for soloing). Corsair and Hercules are generally pretty solid for triangle regions, and Scorpion and Wildfire are good for super large fortresses. Viking is a good all-rounder. Hope this helps.
