Well, I hope this works... I could say that I want to create some sort of 'grid history' crap, but I can't. Any nice reference will just be a bonus. What I want to do is this: So, as some of you may know, there was a small grid-based thread on realm's old 'social' board. It had a nice selection of old gameplay vids (which I could find, but are now very, very outdated), and a quick description of the game, and was basically the main way new people found out about grid. But as all of you probably know, those forums were thoroughly hacked and left for dead. It's clear that those new forums aren't going anywhere, so I think that we should create a new grid thread, complete with a small archive with a few new gameplay vids, as all current grid gameplay vids are at least 20 builds old. Although I'd be happy with anything (no really), here's a few things that would be fun to get footage of, especially since the first 2 items on the list didn't really exist when the previous vids were taken. - A team of 7+ people fighting a regionboss (zeta or omicron)
- A team of 5+ people fighting a hard voy (pdb/flux or taco/quantum)
- A team of 3+ people fighting a less hard voy (any other)
- A team of 3+ people clearing out a city/supply cache
- A scouting run, though as of the new build I'm not sure how that'll work out (Not important, scouting isn't as fun to watch anyway)
- A wilderness voy (Not important at all, just might be cool)
- Cool misc. stuff (Things like Justin's massive chain reaction vid. I'll probably put that on the archive if it works out. Though this also isn't important)
I would be happy to co-operate as well, but my main problem is that I lack any streaming/recording software. If anyone could link me to a site which offers this for free, I will start cranking these out right away (if I can get it to work, that is  ) |

I'm working on a zeta fight right now, and am thinking of making a ~2 minute 'trailer' video. And as for recording, I have a mac (this is why I play flash games :c) and it comes with basically everything I need (quicktime player and imovie, basic stuff). Quicktime has a download for PC here: support.apple.com/kb/DL837 but I can't say how it works since I don't have PC. As for editing, there's windows movie maker. windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/movie-maker#t1=overviewboth are free according to the websites. |

www.bandicam.com/trial version is free, but has bandicam trademark at top and video time limit is 10 minutes, other than that it works fine.

Justin, thanks for the help! Unfortunately, QuickTime won't do; I can browse random weird crap, but in order to actually record anything I need to buy QuickTime Pro.
I'll try out your thing next, jsmoothz.

Both of those are great! Only thing that could be added for the zeta fight is maybe some info about the zeta in the zeta fight (aka how it only stays for 5 mins, and that all those bombs flying everywhere can kill you in 2 hits).
As for the trailer, I love the concept, but perhaps less of a focus on the tutorial, and maybe add a few more tanks. Aside from that it's great.
Trying out bandicam now.

Aight , I've gotten some footage, and will try to get even more over the weekend. I'll begin the archives (submitting my and others' work to the thread) on Monday, Tuesday at the very latest.

I'm not sure how much progress you've made with the thread, but in case you need help, here's some quick 'template' I made.
It's really just to say how to put the videos directly onto the kabam forums in case you didn't know.

Alright, final update-ish thing: you know that thing I had that I said was getting better? Well, it got worse. Much fucking worse. Which is also inconvenient as I've got craptons of irl stuff going on as well.
I'll try to get this thing started tonight, but I'm not making any promises. At this point, if someone wants to do it instead of me, they can go on ahead (providing that they're willing to answer questions on the thread and put new content onto the original post ofc).
