I dunno how many of you are still following ROTMG or not, but I thought you might like to know the game has become pay to win with T10-T11 armor and weapons being sold in the nexus for around 5 bucks, allowing players to max stats and get near top tier equipment with cold hard cash. So I've moved on to other games, and will be popping in here more often probably once this game gets more up to speed, though I'll do my intermittent testing until then. ROTMG was my favorite game for so long. This is the second time I've been shafted by a game I loved, the first being Runescape when they removed free trade. I'll miss your old game Rob

As a realm retiree myself, I definitely sympathize with your feelings, although I would stop short at calling selling t10-t11s p2w. Don't get me wrong - I don't like the move any more than you do, but it's not really any more p2w than selling t8s was - people will stop valuing old tops, the economy will change, and the game's going to remain mostly the same as it was. The original mistake was selling items for gold in the first place.
On the other hand, I'm glad to hear that you'll be testing more. I hope you stay with the realm community too.
Edit: removed comma splice. Yep, I'm a grammar nazi.

It's pay to win because, while those aren't end game UTs and wine cellar items, they're still some of the rarest items in the game, now some of the most common. They're things I have killed myself hundreds of times to attain maybe once in a blue moon - and now they're on sale for 5 dollars, all day, every day, for anyone who has one hour to work a job at minimum wage. It's selling potions essentially since you can still sell them to players for such.
-.- It's like someone took a big smelly piss on all my toons' graves. It hurts.

I'm not done, but only because I can still whine at them. It empowers me to continue defending the game even though its origin is long dead.

I already said everything I wanted to, many times over - I grew tired of it a long time ago, this just was the incentive my mind needed to give up on it. There's no going back unless someone has an old build lying around and makes a private server or something, but I've no delusions about being so lucky.

I don't think RotMG is "truly" pay to win nor it damages the Design Foundation. (From what I see) The meaning of pay to win for a permadeath game like this is for it to disrupt the foundation is to be resurrected through payment. While Realm still lives on and not dead, the strings of the Foundation's thread still remains intact somehow. Lamenting won't solve anything unless an action took place. Still we have a purpose that's need to be fulfill. Shouldn't we be providing feedback? ^^; Heh; my apologies, I didn't mean to drive this off course. Whether RotMG could be fallen over direction or not, you mustn't fall back!

Sometimes adorable puppies grow up to be vicious dogs, and the thing to do is to find another adorable puppy It's just sad being the neighbor's kid and playing with that pup since you aren't allowed one of your own, only to have it become that vicious dog and not having a pup to play with anymore At least here I get to help raise the puppy, so I have more hope this time.

Well, I do hope that there will be plenty of puppies in the sea. Or something like that. Reddit's r/gamedev forum has 50,000 members. If you look at the most popular links of all time, a tutorial on “How to Make a Game Like Realm of the Mad God From Scratch” is #8 (first video got 45,000 views, which is huge for something aimed at developers). Sure, the tutorial isn't great, and most of those developers won't end up making a game like RotMG, but I think it shows that lots of developers have been inspired by Alex and Rob's game. I hope that spurs a new wave of clever indie games.

I hate to advertise another game, but I've been testing another game by another dev named CrypticSea. It's called "Sub Rosa"; the graphics are boxy but the game concept is amazing.
Indie games are really getting to me..I need to get back onto the grid sometime. Haven't been around enough :/

Starting today, Top-Tier items will now be available for purchase. This means, for those individuals who are interested, less grinding for epic items after an untimely death. #Victor So yeah now its pay to win....officially haha <3

Many of the players are on strike so how long until grid might be public? I'm sure once the realm players find out that rob's making a new game that they will come to play this game and give up on realm and this will have an instant playerbase, not like realm's starting where there were very few players for months. I bad engrish in this post i sorry.
