I'd like this thread to be a means of collecting ideas for how to properly defeat a zeta complex. As of right now the only one recorded as defeated was defeated mainly by someone suiciding to use corsair shearing constantly. Let's try to avoid death if we can
Strategy 1: Shearing the sheep
Requirements: Everyone online in corsairs
Recommended Region: Graviton (+50% speed boost)
Methods: Everyone teleports onto the same person and attempts a straight line (as straight as possible, at the same time to avoid bombing following players) through the zeta complex, shearing at the most opportune moment and either continuing through to the other side or teleporting out. Repeat shearing as necessary, use shotguns and lasers to finish off complexes.
Reasoning: at 1500 max or 30% of the target's hp, and a massive hit radius, the corsair's hull shearing is the most effective AOE weapon when quick kills of many targets are required. This gives the best chance of getting multiple drops, whose collection should be timed with other players.
Strategy 2: Hornet's Nest
Requirements: Everyone online in Hornets
Recommended Region: Ionic (+50% range), Baryonic* (+50% damage), Plasmic* (+50% cooldown)
*Without 50% range boost, players may be required to have prisms and augments to a certain percentage to employ this strategy safely
Methods: Everyone teleports onto the same person who has found a safe range from which to attack and see the target (to qualify for a drop). They all engage the range boosting overdrive of the hornet pelt away at it until the facility is killed, moving up as necessary, and coordinating drop collection as well.
Reasoning: at around 300 damage a shot, and a shot per second, with safe range to keep from getting bombed, this strategy means safe kills, but risks being too slow to kill most of the targets. Shearing the Sheep may be employed first to soften the targets for this strategy to be used for mop up protocol.
Supplementation
Hercules: Hercules 300 damage time bomb may be used to more quickly finish off softened targets, but it is not quite fast enough to justify use over the corsair. In solar regions the extra thick shell may be an advantage as well if hornets cannot be out of range of bombs for mop up, and the shell and HP will also mean less risky loot pickup. Hercules in a pair can also circle on the inside using its AOE disarm to make its trip relatively safe, consantly moving so all bombs miss.
Paladin: Healing may be necessary for accidental mishaps, but overall the tank does not find its strength here.
Trailblazer, Wildfire, Silver, Phantom: Stealth and invincibility combined with teleportation would yield safe looting experience.
Other tanks: Minimal effectiveness.
